Our conference rate, considerably below the hotel's standard "rack rate," is $119/night for a single or double room, so make sure you mention that you are affiliated with with SCSECS, or use our group code, UCO. This special price is available through January 25, 2016. In case you want to extend your stay and make a vacation of it, the conference rate is good for three days before and after the dates of the conference itself.

If you are flying into Oklahoma City, the nearest airport is the Will Rogers International Airport (OKC). It is located about a 15-minute drive from the hotel. Shuttles one way cost $20 for a single person or $7 apiece for three or more (keep that in mind for your return journey!). Look for the blue Airport Express vans in the ground transportation area when you arrive at the airport. Shuttles from the airport do not require reservations, and you can pick them up at the curb as you would a taxi.

Workshop and Conference Bonus!
Both the Asian Studies and Eighteenth-Century groups are invited to enjoy a plenary luncheon at the Oklahoma City Petroleum Club, located directly across the plaza
from the Skirvin Hilton.
The luncheon will feature a presentation by Elizabeth Wichmann-Walczak
of the University of Hawai'i. Professor Wichmann-Walczak is a leading expert in the United States on Jingjù, or "Beijing opera," which got its start in the
reign of Emperor Quianlong (1711-1799), sixth emperor of the Qing Dynasty.
After the presentation we are planning a live
east/west face-off between Beijing-style and western-style opera singers, which is bound to be an unforgettable event. The Petroleum Club itself--a private club
for Oklahoma City's oil and gas executives, located at the penthouse of the second-highest building in the city with sweeping views of the capital building and other
local landmarks--would be well worth the trip in itself.
